to maassl ... I'm new to posting here, but I think I know what you mean after looking at the site ... it is obviously British, so the measurements for a lot of items are in WEIGHT, not volume like we're more accustomed to. For instance, let's look at the pineapple fritter recipe - liquids are measured in ml or L, and his Imperial conversion specifies floz. which meand FLUID ounce. The dry ingredients are measured by weight, not volume, so 4oz doesn't mean a half cup measure, it means 4 ounces weighed on a kitchen scale. When it says pudding it just means dessert and a courgette is a zucchini. That's all that jumped out at me after looking at it for 5 minutes. My parents are both British, so it was easy for me to figure out, but some of the terminology is definitely unfamiliar to lots of North Americans. Hope this helped! Karen
Ingredients
-*this is a liquid, so is measured in a measuring cup ... 300ml/ 11 floz. Milk
-1 Pineapple or 16 pineapple rings. Pineapple
-*a British tablespoon usually means something large like a serving spoon, so if it doesn't seem like enough liquid, add just a bit more ... 2 Tablespoons. Cooking Oil
-*this is dry, so is measured by weight, not volume ... 225g/ 8oz self raising. Flour
