my husband rides quads and him and a ton of buddies go on BIG rides every summer...
I made a ton of these last year and sent...and am still occasionally hearing about how good they were...
1 (1p)loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
4 Tbs butter, softened
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 c grated Parmesan cheese
1 head lettuce, shredded
1 pd sliced cooked ham
1 pd sliced deli turkey meat
1 pd sliced cotto salami
1 pd sliced mozzarella cheese
1 pd sliced Swiss cheese
1 pd sliced provolone cheese
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 vidalia onion, sliced
1 small can sliced black olives drained
1 green bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced (optional)
1 small can sliced mushrooms drained(optional)
Preheat oven to 425
In a small bowl, mix together the butter and garlic. Spread garlic butter on both halves of bread, and sprinkle liberally with Parmesan cheese. Bake until cheese is golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
On the bottom half of the bread, place a layer of lettuce. Alternating between meat and cheese, arrange layers of ham, turkey, salami, mozzarella, Swiss and provolone. Add a layer of tomatoes, onion, black olives, mushrooms, green peppers and anything else you like. Place top and bread and wrap tightly in plastic and refrigerate til ready to serve.
These are sooo good...make sure you layer in order...for me thats what makes it !!!
