Would like one that is rich and not bland. Something like at panera, where the broth is very thick!!

I don't know what Panera soup tastes like but if you want thicker soup you can add a liitle bit of corn starch or flour. I prefer corn starch. just put in a small amount and gradually find the consistency you like. I also add tumeric to my soup. I always just add what's on hand it changes all the time. try adding pepercorn. HTH

This is for chicken and rice, but you may be able to substitute noodles. It's very thick...and awesome!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup
1/2 Cup butter
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 Cup chopped celery
1/2 cup sliced carrots
1/2 pound fresh sliced mushrooms
3/4 cup flour
6 cups chicken broth
2 cups cooked wild rice (I use regular white rice)
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/2 tsp mustard powder
1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 cup slived almonds (optional)
3 Tbsp dry sherry
2 cups half-and-half

Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in onion,, celery and carrots and saute 5 minutes. Add mushrroms for 2 more minutes. Then add the flour and stir well. Gradually pour in the chicken broth until all has been added. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer.

Next add the rice, chicken, salt, curry, mustard, parsley, pepper, almonds and sherry. Allow to heat through, then pour in the half-and-half, Let SIMMER 1 to 2 hours. **Don't boil once half and half is added!**

This looks so good. I bet that little bit of sherry really enhances the flavor. I can't wait to try it.
