You can make Rice Krispie Treats using pretty much any kind of cereal on hand or on sale. Use the same butter and marshmallow as the original recipe. I have done it with cheeries, Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles, and many others. The kids like them all.

I love my magic eraser and pizza cutter too!

I just got a ton of chop meat on sale for real cheap so I decided to make and freeze burgers. I lined my 1/2 cup measuring cup with plastic wrap and packed the meat into it then pulled out the plastic wrap, flipped it over on a small piece of parchment paper and then put another piece on top and flattened it out. It worked great and not only do I not have to touch raw meat, but all the burgers are the exact same size.

Oh, and I always make a hole in the middle of the burger so they don't puff up, therefore DH is not tempted to sqiush my burgers and dry them out!

Kitchen tips from me...

1. Use Blueberry muffin mix to make quick pancakes! The muffin mix makes GREAT, fluffy pancakes
2. If you have a child who is interested in cooking and old enough to help out, give them a siccors to cut up different things up for the meal, obviously all things can't be cut with a siccors but, some things work.
3. if a tomato based pasta dish doesn't have enough flavor, add a bit of Balsamic vinegar. It really adds to the flavor.
4. When i get a bunch of fresh fruits I clean all of them and chop up some to put into pancakes. I make a BUNCH of pancakes with in a day of getting the fruit, put enough for the next couple of days in the fridge and the rest go into the freezer (6 to each package). I pull them out and mic. them for a quick meal/breakfast.

I use onions in just about everything i cook. So i will buy two onions and when i get them home i chop them up and fill up one or two quart size ziploc bags. Fill them up but make sure they are about 1 1/2 inches thick when you smush them down to get out all the air. than went you need onions, you can just hack off the amount you need.

Can you freeze onions?

We are in a breakfast rut around here? What fruit do you use to put in your pancakes? I love this idea!!

Yes, as long as you are cooking it. DH doesn't eat onion--I mean, he doesn't like onion (wink, wink!). I sneak it in and he is none the wiser quite often! But I rarely will use a whole onion before it begins to go bad so I will dice it and freeze it and then I have it onhand for later.

I just recently learned that you can use vinegar in place of rinse aid in your dishwasher.

I run the dishwasher in the evening to save on energy use & to come down to a empty clean sink in the AM.

If you buy fresh chicken, you can marinate as you thaw. Take out desired amount of chicken & put in a labeled zipper storage bag thingie. Dump in your marinade or sauce & freeze. When you pull it out to thaw before cooking, the meat will marinate as it's thawing out

I also put a few garbage bags folded in the bottom of the can so I can take out the full trash bag & empty ones are waiting for me.

Pancake flavors, let's see--

We do blueberry, strawberry, apple (made with applesauce), and pumpkin pancakes on occasion. We also do banana pancakes. Tried coconut once & it didn't work too well for us, but I will probably try that one again as my kids like the pina colada type flavor.
