In casserole, combine:

-1 cup rice
-1 stick margarine
-1 can beef consomme' soup
-1 can french onion soup
-1 jar mushrooms (optional)

Place pork chops on top (I like lots of pepper). Bake @ 400 degrees for about an hour. Easy and delicious!

I use 2 cans of mushrooms, cause I like them alot and I don't use a whole stick of butter, only a few pats...turns out great everytime.

Okay, I am missing something...I have pork chops thawing for supper, too. The comment on liking pepper...is this another ingredient or am I missing something? And, what do you do with the rice? Cook seperately or with this?

I'm sorry... first combine the rice, soups, butter, mushrooms in a casserole dish, then place the pork chops on top and bake. This is so good...the pepper is optional, to season the pork chops. I usually poke my pork chops with a knife, so they absorb some of the flavor of the soup, too. Sorry it wasn't clear the first time! HTH!!
