Toffee Coffee Creamer

1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup brown sugar

CHOCOLATE SYRUP

* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
* 1 cup tap water
* 2 cups sugar
* 1/8 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Find a 2 quart saucepan. In it, mix the cocoa and water with a wire whisk or fork. Heat the chocolate water over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add the sugar and continue to stir until the sugar dissolves. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and boil for a full 3 minutes. Remove the syrup from the heat.

Add the salt and vanilla, stirring to blend. Pour the syrup into a clean pint sized canning jar, or a clean catsup container. Put a good lid on the jar and store it in the fridge.

Use this chocolate syrup to make chocolate milk, or serve it over ice-cream. This is remarkably similar to Hershey's Chocolate Syrup in the can.

3 C quick cook oatmeal (I have used slow cook and it works too)
8 small zip bags

Put 1/2 C oats in a blender and blend on high until powdery. Set aside in a small bowl and repeal procedure with an additional 1/2 c oats.

Put the following ingredients into each zip bag: 1/4 C unpowdered oats, 2Tbsp powdered oats. Store in an airtight container

To serve: Empty packet into a bowl. Add 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir and let stand for 2 minutes.

Variations add to each packet:

Apple-Cinnamon

2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2tbsp chopped dried apples

Brown sugar

2 TBSP brown sugar

Smore Oatmeal

6-8 miniature marshmallows
1Tbsp mini chocolate chips

Cookies and cream

1 crushed Oreo
1Tbsp non-dairy coffee creamer

These store very well and my kids like them much better than they do the store bought packets. You can use anything you have on hand you are only limited by your imagination. I have even used cake sprinkles.

1 can rinsed navy beans or make your own
2 cloves roasted garlic
1 med roasted onion
1 red roasted peper
1Tbsp lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

Add all ingredients to blender process until smooth. You might have to drizzle olive oil in to help it mix smooth.

Although this isn't as thick it works well and you can pronounce all of the ingredients!!

1 3/4 C white Sugar
1/4 C brown sugar
1 C water

Bring to boil cover and boil for 2 minute. Cover sauce pan for 1 min. as syrup cooks to melt crystals. Cool slighly then add:

1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp maple flavoring
1/2 tsp butter flavoring (optional)

If you choose you can add a little corn syrup to thicken. I don't do this so I can't tell you how much.
