I found this cookbook at a senior citizen sale & thought some of the recipes looked pretty good & thought I would share.
This one comes from a 1943 magazine which tells us that it is rich in vitamins C & B.

Beef Mixture:
3/4 pound ground beef 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
3/4 pound ground pork 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups grated potatoes 1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup grated onions 1/4 cup margarine or butter

Combine the meat, potatoes, onions, green peppers, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, and pepper; shape mixture into ball. Place in a well greased pan, and pour the barbecue sauce over the meat.

Barbecue Sauce:
2/3 cup dill pickle juice 1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup chili sauce 6 tablespoons diced dill pickle
4 drops Tabasco
4 teaspoons Worcestershire
Sauce

Mix the dill pickle juice, chili sauce, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, salt and dill pickle; pour over meat. Bake at 375 degress for 30 minutes.
