There are some members on this board looking to send care packages to service members serving overseas. If you know someone over there and have an address you are willing to share, please put your name down here so we know who to PM for that info! Thanks

ALSO

For those of you reading this looking to send over some things here is some info you may not even know:

When you send a box overseas to a soldier, chances are they SHARE all of the contents with those around them. So if you get a male's mailing address, you can still add maxi pads, tampons, etc to that box. They make sure everyone gets a little piece of the pie. They are really good about taking care of each other too

I sent Blessed_with_6's brother a box at Christmas time and I put in it: maxi pads, tampons, toothpaste, shaving cream, wipes, contact lens solution, advil, etc....and he shared it with his company. So don't be shy to do that too! whatever you have to share they will be greatly appreciative

PS...He is APPALLED at the number of soldiers who never get a single thing from home. So, anything that is sent is SURE appreciated. Also, in case you didn't know this, you do have to have a soldier's direct info now. The post office is not accepting the "to a soldier" anymore.

My son, Sean, is there but right now they are leading the offensive in Baqoubah and are on the move. I know he would welcome cards and letters but anything else that is sent has to be carried in their combat packs or left behind. PM me if you would like his address to send him a letter or card.

BTW, his 20th birthday is coming up at the end of August and I would love if everyone would send him cards. I will post a reminder in early August.

you can adopt a soldier @ Home . I just did. I plan on sending blessed's brother a care package this week and then my soldier (I just got his info) one next week. Thanks guys, someone else posted that website in another thread, I feel like I can do something to help them now and really show the troops I care.

Just a note on the feminine products. If your adopted soldier, like my son is in an Infantry unit, there are NO females. I cannot imagine my son's unit members' faces if they opened a box with tampons in it and what kind of things they would do with them!

please check out our site if you need someone to send things to, we connect civllians with soldiers who want to be adopted...or you can send us a name too, we get personalizes wish lists from the soldiers too so you dont have to guess, this is not a non-profit, we just do it to help, we average about 100 soldiers a month
also!!! we have a link on our site to a soldier owned business that is really cool! he makes christmas stockings out of real uniform material for each military division-they look really cool, he sent us two and he puts a lot of work into it, even doing hte sepearate pockets and edging and putting military insigna on it!
