I have had a problem with "our friend" on another post so I am on your side 100% Tink. I actually think ahe ahould read some of the info because I learned a lot from the little bit that I hada chance to read. For example, I was thinking "witch" as a "stereotypical" thing, too. Now I understand that it is just a religion, passed down through generations, too. I respect you and what you do and I love that witches respect Christians for what they do. It's all about love and respect....

Wow Tink I am sorry that happened to this post. I'm with Wendy this is sad. It's terrible that it's confused with satanic pratices when satan doesn't even exist to you, you probably fight that steroetype everyday. I am of the Christian persuasion but look for common ground with everyone for the sake of humanity and loving one another, sometimes people try to bully you with your beliefs though. Please don't stop posting, inspiration comes in many forms and even strangers have given me the most profound thoughts.

I wasn't going to reply to this post, until I read Melanie's reply and the other's that followed. Many were quick to jump on her, mainly because she stands for the Christian faith and what she had to say. But I wonder, what kind of Christian would she be if she didn't explain her beliefs? Isn't that what she did?

I think most people are mistaken when they call Christians judgemental. Of course, we can all be, but simply explaining your faith and quoting from the Bible doesn't mean we are trying to judge you or that we think we are better than you. Most Christians that I know do it out of love, because we are afraid of your salvation according to our beliefs. And most Christians know that it is not our words, but God's word that saves, which is why she quoted the Bible.

Way to go Melanie, I think you did a terrific job.

If it was simply an explanation of her faith, I wouldn't be so angry about it. This was a deliberate attack on someone of another faith, coupled with slander based on a total lack of understanding of the subject matter.

I have no issue with the fact that you and Melanie have a deep Christian belief. I DO have a problem with using it to persecute others. I didn't ask for the Witchfinder General to start another round of trials here. I made a query to someone with greater knowledge on the subject than me, and my thread was hijacked and used as a proselytizing point for hatred and bias and close-mindedness, none of which are appropriate on this board. I don't know what else TO call that but judgmentalism.

We are human beings, and as such, have free will to make our own path through this existence. We choose different ways. ACCEPTANCE of this is what allows for their to be peace in the world. Forcing your will and dogma and such on others is what creates the conflict and division that keeps this world a dangerous place.

I'm quite sorry that I brought my query into the public forum in the first place. Were it possible to retract it, I would. I should have known that it would attract a crowd with lit torches.

I do not believe Melanie was attacking anybody. I believe Melanie was warning people of the dangers in dealing with magic and witchcraft. Whether someone believes in God and the devil or not, doesn't mean they don't exist. Christians know without a doubt that they do. I truly believe Melanie said what she did because her heart is troubled over this. I know for a fact, she wasn't doing it out of malice. Christians have an obligation and desire to spread the good news of Christ and to warn others of the dangers of this world. Surely you don't believe we like telling people they are going to #### because they don't believe.
