I certainly don't see where your thread was hi-jacked!? From what I recall, there were only a few posts concerning the dangers of witchcraft, but the majority of the replies came from people interested in it.

Of course you don't. Therein lies the problem.

By bringing Christianity and all of the scriptural quotations the thread was hijacked. By bringing the hostility into the conversation, the thread was hijacked.

Melanie may have been speaking from her heart -- and I don't doubt that for a minute -- but it was not welcome in this thread. The close-minded, anti-anything not "Christian" attitude is absolutely abhorrent to me, and many others. I cannot comprehend how you can't see it, or how you can't see how it turns others off of the path you have chosen.

The only "danger" in witchcraft is that your religion loses another potential member. One less seat filled in your church; one less source of income for your coffers. The "dangers" come from misunderstanding, misappropriation, and misinformation. Usually spread and propagated by those who have others' "best interests" at heart.

You claim an "obligation" to spread your beliefs. What you choose to conveniently forget is that others may not want to hear it -- and we have that right. Your obligations do not override that. We all have our own beliefs and are quite content with them. Should we wish to learn more about other paths, we will ask, as we have asked Itstinkerbelle for her input.

Kemtee you are a genius! I have been following this post with a rapidly developing sense of outrage. Thank you for being so articulate & posting what I would like to say. You managed to get the point across without mudslinging or profanity. I know I could not have done it with even half the class.

Yes, you are right. Now the thread is hi-jacked. There are many who don't want to hear and who choose not to and that is their right, but there are also people out there who do need to hear it, who are seeking it. Kemtee, I am not in the least concerned about filling one more seat in the church or getting more money, what true christians are most concerned about is lost souls. I'm sorry that you don't see that.

ok, Im a Christian, and yes i too am concerned for Lost souls...

but Im not dumb either, i know I alone can't make anyone change their believes thats up to the Lord and the person, Like i said before God gave us all brains and Freewill to CHOOSE what path we take wheather it being a jewish or whitch or christian...

all i can do is pray for them... I will never push or shove my religion on to anyone... I had folks do that to me long before i found the religion I choose and i hated it.. It actually made me turn away from those religions. I felt they where pushy and trying to almost round up enough folks for thier day of judgement and the crowns they would not recieve... instead of really wanting to witness to me and help me...

so i swore i would NEVER DO THAT.. now if that makes me a BAD christian in your eyes. thats fine with me... I know where I stand and so does the Lord and thats the only one i care about judgeing me...

I found this thread very interesting, the Witch part... I learned alot.. and I enjoy learning about others beliefs..

Concern for those souls that you classify as lost is touching, and certainly speaks to your dedication to your faith. That's not a bad thing. But

Your classification includes many who are not lost. Or, many who are searching, researching, and making their own decisions, quite happily.

The true lost soul can certainly benefit from input and guidance of any kind. Whatever makes the connection to bring that person to their peace cannot help but be for the better good.

I do see that.

Don't you think that if the people who were participating in this discussion were "seeking it" they could have started a new post or sent you a pm? I for one didn't need or want to hear it & I certainly don't remember seeking it out. However I do seem to remember that the original reason for this post was that someone was seeking information from itstinkerbelle.

One never knows if a person is seeking or not and sometimes they don't even know if they are seeking. I certainly wasn't when I found Christ. I only joined in this discussion to speak up for Melanie, who I believe was speaking from her heart.

And when does a discussion generally stay on the topic?

Honey, I'm not judging you or anybody else on this board. I don't consider you to be a bad christian. But as I already stated, Christians are obligated to spread the good news around. You are right, we alone can't change anybody's mind, but we can plant the seed. And I feel that Christians should warn others of the dangers, whether they want to hear it or not. That is all we can do.
