Explain for me please, if you would be so kind, the distinction between Wiccan and hereditary Witch. I know the Wiccan path, and I know there is a difference, but I don't know what it is.

I was born into a line of Witch's, Heriditary.
I am a Witch.. Being a Witch is who you are.. like being Jewish is who you are.
Wiccan is a religion..
Not all Wiccan's are Witch's
and not all Witch's are Wiccan.
Just like not all Christian's are Catholic.
Feel free to ask anything you would like to know.

I love all the little blessings. I think it's great when religions do that b/c it breaks stereotypes that are often negative.

Is there anything more special about hereditary witches than the by choice witches?

I think so, if you are Heriditary, you grow up learning, you have a history of ancesters knowledge written in BOS ( book of shadows) You inherit them, they are full of knowledge pasted down and added to with every generation born after..

If you are already grown and chose to become Witch, you have to start learning yourself, and that can be quite hard to do.

itstinkerbell, what do witches believe in? Do you have a supreme higher power? Where do witches go when they die?
Is your husband a witch?

First and foremost I believe in "Harm to none, do what you will"
I believe that I controll myself and my life through the elements.
I believe in the triple Goddess and the God.
I believe in many , they are called upon in different situations to help.
When we die, we go to Summerland, its a resting place between incarnations.

I am sure it won't inform you the way itstinkerbelle could, but there is a book called "Wiccan Beliefs & Practices" by Gary Cantrell that I found facinating. Wicca is my "new" relegion to study. I don't subscribe to any one, but think it's important to study all. Wicca is actually the closest I've come to finding something that fits me.
