Sorry if this it TMI -

Is anyone else on this? It's the three-month-to-a-pack birth control pills. I'm on the fifth week and having a little period. I know it says that breakthrough bleeding is normal, but this is like a regular period. I started these because they were almost positive that I had fibroids, but since, the sonogram showed no fibroids. So, she did a uterine biopsy - which just sounds scary to me. I'll be on pins and needles until Wednesday when I hear from them.

Just wondering if this was normal....

I was on Seasonique for 9 month despite telling my doctor up front about having fibroids. My fibroids grew, caused more pain, and I was expelling horrible amounts of tissue. My periods were extremely heavy and lasted 3 weeks. It was to the point that I was afraid to leave the house for fear of soiling my clothes in publich. (Not to mention that I gained 10-15 pounds and lost my libido). When I consulted her after 6 months of use, she didn't think I needed to change prescriptions.

My doctor did a big push to get me to switch prescriptions. I had been on Ortho Novum 7/7/7 for years. My birth control bill went from $45 for a 3 month supply to $160! I feel like my doctor got some kind of kick back for every prescription written and did not care that this drug has horrible side effects- especially for someone with fibroids.

I have taken myself off this drug and will be writing to the medical board about this. I am reading all over the internet that nobody with fibroids should be on Seasonique.
