We all know what the long term goal is, so I won't bore you...but look out the day it is achieved :D

Short term....
Drink more water
Drink less soda

The soda I am BAD with...I was up to 5 cans a day, I'm at 2 or 3 now, and today (it's 11AM) so far I haven't had any...I have had 2 bottles of water though.

Those are January's goals. And to continue with my 30-3, but make every effort to make it 30 -4 on a more regular basis. (30 mins, 3x a week exercise).

Of course it is the #1 New Years Resolution - Lose weight and become active. I have tried to lose weight endless times through crash diets and fasts etc. I even have been to nutritionists. Never succeeding. Never taken off baby 60 pounds of pregnancy weight that I gained 9 years ago and more pregnancy weight 3 years left me feeling depressed and going from becoming a dual income family to a single left me in a rut. I have decided that this is my year to turn my life around through exercise and healthy eating. I'm doing on my own, I would love to do weight watchers but because of my three year old it makes it difficult to attend meetings and there there is the cost. I bought my self a food journal and I am trying to record in it every day. It has only been 4 days. I went back to measuring and weighing my food because my eyes are bigger than my stomach. Two years ago when I turned 40 that was going to be my year to lose weight and it never happened. But it is never too late. I feel that I am always running around for my husband or daughter or son and I never take any time out for myself. When I worked for a large investment company and did everything else it seem that I somehow gave myself time.

Oh well here is to 2007 and may it be a successful year for everyone. I have 74 pounds to lose and I will do it.

I loved Amypal's idea of setting monthly goals - what a smart cookie you are! I also have really liked positive (as opposed to restrictive) goals. So mine for January are:

1) Post my weekly progress here!
2) Eat 5 servings (or more) of fruits and veggies.
3) Run 3x per week.
4) Try out spinning classes at least 3 times.

The big goal for 2007 is to run a marathon in mid-September. I won't start officially training for a month or two, but I need to get my body used to running 3-5 times a week to avoid injury (this is also where the spinning comes in - build quads, no bouncing on those poor knee joints!).

Good luck to everyone with their goals! You can do it! And, remember, as I will try to: obstacles come up in all our lives. Before we start to feel guilty about what we haven't accomplished, rededicate ourselves to starting again!

I got mine on paper and now I am finally getting them here-

1-Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
2-Keep food Journal.
3-Exercise 3-4x a week.
4-Smaller portions of food(my downfall is dinner).
5-Get rid of soda(did it before and I need to do it again).
6-Lose 20-25 pounds.
7-Try to stay away from snack foods as much as I was.

This is a nice start

I'm a 21 year old mom of one. I've been overweight since highschool and even though I have lost all but 2lbs. of baby weight I still want to be in the shape I used to be in. A size 10, I'm currently a size 16 (almost into a 14).

My goals are:

1. Cut out soda and drink more water (yucky!)
2. Exercise at least three times a week
3. Get into a size ten again
4. Eat less and smaller "snacks"
5. Don't eat because something sounds good, eat because I'm hungry
