I was looking around the net last night and came to a realization. I am obese, not the can't find clothes or special order obese, but all the same obese. I started really seeking info b/c alot of health problems come from this alone and I have enough issues. Well I figure it's about time to take of the baby weight and then a little. Just wanted to share my links, this has motivated me.

Health effects of obesity. You will need to check your BMI with the link below this one.

http://www.obesity.org/subs/fastfact..._Effects.shtml

This link takes you to a BMI calculator.

http://www.obesity.org/education/bmi.shtml

This calculates the calories you should eat to reach your ideal weight based on height, age, and activity level.

This is a great calorie calculator. It calculates lots of activities based on your weight.

It's scary to think that putting on some weight can put your health at such serious risk.

I have a BMI of 30. I am just beginning to gain weight to get into "plus" sizes. You'd be suprised what is considered obese. I just wish I hada doctor who took it seriously...

I have been going to specialist for about 6 months now. I decided last dec that I was going to reclaim my life. I have been doing very well. I have gone down about 3 sizes do far. slow and steady. I still get to have treats too.

I need that specialist's name!! At one point, AFTER having had one child, my bmi was under 15. Now, I don't even want to know. I know I need to do something...but my gosh, I have no spare money laying around for a gym, I have no money to pay a sitter to even walk the neighborhood, it is 102* here lately, six kids drag me six different directions, MINIMUM. I keep saying, "one day", but I worry..really worry...that one day isn't going to come, if I don't get some of this off.

It's ok I'm sure there are quite a few of us in the same boat. Baby steps. Consistency is my biggest challenge.

for me it was learning that it is a process. If you overindulge one day, two days, one week. fine, now get back on track. I was anger at the world for about two months and purposely did nothing. of course my killer headaches came back and that keeps me on track. the specialist I see is a doc who performs gastric bypass, but they also started a non-surgical program. dh ins pays for it b/c I am prediabetic. I see a nutritionist, my doc and a psychologist. well, I haven't seen psycho guy yet. I was naughty and was supposed to see him when I was made at the world. I need to make appt. I'm hesitating b/c I'm going to have to tell doc that I think I'm depressed and I don't want to take meds. I hate taking any meds.
