OK i was very involved in our church in Everett before our move.But since moving i could not find a church that wasnt soooo superficial.I have never been one to push faith down other peoples throats.Heck i lived with my husband(an athiest)for 9 years.But now i have just decided that maybe God is not for me(not the reason for the post so i wont go into detail)

But what irks me is this.I have gotten a couple emails or phone calls fomr my so called "Crhistian" friends who feel the need to tell me how badly i am hurting my kids byy divorcing my husband an dhow this is not "God's WIll" I am soooo sick of hearing this!I dont think it was "GOd's will either for me to marry an aithiest!ALl I want is ot try and be happy and i am so not here.Why oh why do they have to drag Gods Will into it

No flaming from me.......you and only you know what is right for you and your kids. You are putting your kids BEFORE yourself. SOmeone (other than the ladies on the DB) has guided you in the direction you are going. I'd tell them to "mind their own bees wax!" No one can know what you (and your kids) are going through, unless they have gone through it themselves.

They would rather you stay in a marriage and be unhappy? That can't be good for the kids. Divorce doesn't have to be a bad thing. My parents were divorced when I was five and my brothers, sister and I all turned out fine so I hate that when people think divorce is so awful for the kids. You do what you have to do to make you happy, I wouldn't listen to them.

I hate it to when people use the "God's will" argument. Yeah, divorce does hurt the kids, but not as much as living in a house where there is constant arguing. I'm sorry that you're friends aren't being that supportive. If you need to talk I'm here for ya!

I am gonna say this and I pray it makes sense. Satan is not going to come at you wearing his horns and packing a pitchfork.......he will come at you (at all of us) in the form of our friends, form of sicknesses, bills, ect. He is out to kill, steal and destroy you if he can. I am not saying these people are the devil. I am saying that sometimes we get tricked by satan and we think we are doing some person good by opening our mouth and what we really need to do is mind our own business and pray for the person.

Wendy you just tell them that the bible warns against using God against people. Remind them as Christians they should not be offending or passing judgement. The world loves to wage wars and battles in God's name and the Bible strictly warns against this. If you have asked for guidance and God is leading you away from dh then who is to say that is not the path intended for you. They could be turning you away from God's will with all of their good intentions. People never see the paradox that enlies in almost every political or religious statement. It's your heart, you decide what's right. All I ask is that you offer up prayer first and leave your heart open, however, I can not demand it as I could very well be wrong too. See the paradox.....:O

I don't think it is so much a Christian vent as a so called "friends" vent!!! A true Christian would support you and pray for the best for you and your family. No one has the right to try to intimidate you into doing what they want you to do. My thought and prayers are with you and your kiddos as you enter this new stage in your life.
