I just can't get rid of this cold and it's starting to settle in my chest. I so want to exercise- but my lungs just are not cooperating with giving me enough air to really work out the way I want to. Example: I started to do some of my Yoga Booty Ballet this morning- I was gasping for air within 2 minutes of warming up and started wheezing and had to cough to try to control my breathing (I used to have asthma growing up and this is very similar to how I would have to try to gain my breath if I did not have my inhaler). So the downfall is that I am not able to really exercise the way I want too but the positive is that I have not had a cigarette in about 1.5 days!

I have always read that if the cold is above the throat, such as a head cold, sneezing, running nose ect. then you can work out, but when it is below the throat, as in the chest. then skip it. Maybe call your Dr. and ask the nurse.

I agree. They say to rest, as your body needs all its resources to heal. I'm on an inhaler now that's doing no good, and I'm not a happy camper.

If you feel congested you could always sit in a sauna or a hot bathroom with the shower on for a few minutes. That will help alleviate the full head feeling and get those icky juices flowing again, allowing you to breath easier!

If you can't do cardio you could always do pilates or stretching or even yoga. It will elevate your heart rate but not as hard as a full thirty minute run on the treadmill.

HOpe you're feeling better soon!
