I am pretty novice to everything but I was wondering if you (witches in general) can use psychic powers, etc like Sylvia Browne. You were saying that the Quija board may bring the dead back into our realm and I've heard her say things about people being stuck in our realm. I believe she is Christian so I was wondering if witches also may posses psychic powers.

I just caught the first thread and now this one. This is just all so fascinating to me!

A few questions:

You say your ancestors are witches. How far back can you trace your ancestry?

In the first post, you show us two brooms. What purpose do these brooms serve?

What exactly is a "familiar?" My brain mentally cues up the movie 'Bell, Book, and Candle' with Kim Novak looking into Piwacket's eyes and humming. What purpose does a familiar serve?

Do you see spirits of deceased people? My dh sees dead relatives and pets all the time in our house, and I've never seen any. How blind am I?

This is all I can think of now. I'll probably think of more questions later.

The ouiji board can call up the spirits , I dont use mine to call a perticular spirit to come to me, When you deliberatly call up one spirit, the spirit has no choice but to come and is Stuck here untill you release it again.They have no free will to chose to come or not.... that is why I dont like the idea of calling a past family member, let them rest....
Spirits that are already Stuck here is different, they have died but not crossed over, so they never left yet...they have not seen the beyond , all they know is here...

Yes, Witch's can be psychic, We can Scry to see things, we can use a crystal, I have the gift of sight. I see things and for me its like watching a movie, I can't see anything else till its over....It was very scary when I was a kid, but I learned how to controll it .

You are not BLIND>>> you have been programed growing up that to see Spirits... tends to mean that your CRAZY!!!!
If you watch a child, they are innocent and they see SPIRITS everywhere, They even talk to them, We as adults... call them IMAGINARY FRIENDS!!! BULL S%$#, the children are seeing , hearing and answering Spirits...
Ill give you an example...
My sister died at 22 yrs old, now she died when MY kids were still little...
My GRAND SON, was talking in my yard one day.. I went and asked him who he was talking to.. He said "the lady in the woods"...
I asked him what she looked like...
He described my sister perfectaly... We had always called her "LEE"
and she always called me "SOOKIE"
My grand son said to me, that "HELENA (her real name) Told him to say HI to SOOKIE!!!!"
He was TOO young to know that "There is NO SUCH THINGS AS GHOSTS"..
I see spirits all the time, I have a graveyard across from my back yard, I love it! Its the most peacefull place to just sit and listen.. I have spirits walk around my yard and house all the time.I feel BLESSED that I am able to see them...

Your familiar chooses you...
It is a guide through this realm and the others. A familiar has lived Many Many lives, and will stay with a witch untill she does not need it anymore, and it will go on into another life.
It protects, guides, warns and allows a witch to see the unseen.It is always beside you, it won't pay much attention to anyone else.
The Besom's ( witches Brooms) are used to cleanse space, they are used to protect your home by standing one at the door. They are used to seal a marrage by Jumping over the Broom after the ceramony.
You asked about how far back I can trace my family..
They go back century's to Sweaden, I am sweedish.
On another note, A witch is a WITCH, it does not matter if one is a male or female its still a WITCH!!! NOT A WARLOCK!! No such thing.. to call a Male Witch a Warlock, is an INSULT!

Hi Tink! I think it's great that you are doing this. And I love the wonderful reception the ladies have given you. I developed an interest in Wicca back in the mid-80's and have tried many times to, oh, what's the word I'm looking for..develop maybe?,myself in the Craft, but it never seemed to happen. I still have my books and my Tarot but haven't touched them in quite awhile.

Before you try to use your Tarot again, you have to cleanse them.. If the deck has been just sitting, it has picked up Goddess knows what kind's of energy's from everything around the deck! Did you wrap your deck in white satin? Or do you keep the deck in a wooden Tarot box? I have a big wooden and glass box for my Tarot cards, I have several sets...
