I am pretty sure it is Psalm 23 or 24 the one the talks about walking through the shadow of death. My dad used to tell me it was his favorite because of what it meant, so what does it mean exactly?

1.) The Lord is my shepherd; (He's the master, we are sheep and he is the shepherd to look over and protect us.) I shall not want. (He provides are needs, we don't have to want, we just need to trust in Him to provide a way.)
2.) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; (He gives me life, he is life) he leadeth me beside the still waters. (Still water is peaceful, he gives me peace in him)
3.) He restoreth my soul; (he revives me, saves me, restores me) he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness(his way, the pathway to Heaven) for his name sake.( he is my leader, my guide to eternal life of righteousness, this has to be done in Jesus name!)
4.) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, (dark hours, sorrow, saddness, death) I will fear no evil; (we don't have to be afraid, no need for fear) for thou art with me;(we are not alone, Jesus is with us) thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.(peace from God, staff represents a cain, we lean on God, he is our cain, our crutch.)
5.) Thou preparest a table before me (he prepares our hearts and the hearts of others) in the presence of mine enemies;(we don't have to fear satan, because God has already taken care of him, he went ahead of us and had everything taken care of) thou anointest my head with oil;(he touches me, blesses me) my cup runneth over.(the joy of the Lord overflows from within us)
6.) Surely goodness and mercy (good things, blessings, compassion) shall follow me (goes where I go) all the days of my life; (till our earthly death, then eternal joy and peace eternal) and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.(be in Heaven, have eternal life!)
