I was raised in a non-denominational church -but we normally had baptist preachers, so I feel comfortable in a baptist setting.

My dh was raised in a Church of God. When we were living in his hometown we went to his church. While it was big and a bit modern for my tastes I got used to it.

We now live in a predominantly Baptist community. I want to find a new church home - but dh doesn't want to try the Baptist churches. I haven't found a Church of God near us.

So - did you ever change denominations? What were you before/after? Why did you change?

I have been Baptist my whole life, but when I got married, my husband was Nazarene. We went to the Nazarene church for a couple years, but felt we were just not in the right place anymore (the church got really big). So, we went on a search for the right church, and went to several different denominations- non-denominational, church of Christ, methodist, baptist...... I think we tried them all Anyway, we have finally settled into a small Baptist church, and we really feel at home. Of all of the denominations that we tried, we felt at home in all of them,... it really just depended on the size of the church. The only downside to switching denominations is that when it comes around to the time of changing preachers or whatnot, you may not be used to their way of doing it. For example, me being Baptist, I was used to being able to vote on our preacher. In the Nazarene church I went to, the church board prayed about it and met about it, and they picked the preacher for us.
