I got a new MP3 player and figured I would use it as an opportunity to change my music. If you know any good music to run to, I would like to hear your suggestions. Anything goes, although I generally like country and rock. It needn't be new either. I just need some fresh stuff.

Being Canadian 'by marriage' I love the Barenaked Ladies. Their music is generally pretty fast paced. I use it to walk on the treadmill with.

How about "Run Like Hell" by Pink Floyd? If I'm ever running without my headset that song always plays over and over in my head. I also like the more upbeat songs by Toby Keith. Another good one is "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama and "Devil went down to Georgia"---the fiddle solos that get faster and faster (not sure what that is called in music terminology but I'm sure it has a name--crescendo?) give me a mental boost to increase my speed.

ETA: Not trying to be corny with the running theme but how about "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen, "Run to You" by Brian Adams, "Take the Money and run" steve miller band and "Running down a dream" by Tom Petty. You could choose more modern up-to-date tunes and then mix these 'running' songs in every now and then.

I listen to New Order a lot when I run/walk. I have also become a big Evanescence fan lately. They are awesome!

Hmmm...every year the cross country team compiles a CD at the end of the year. I could ask my dd what songs they put on there. I know it's lots of energetic upbeat running, inspirational type things. Remind me if I don't get back to you.

One of the songs I used to love to run to when I was in the Army and we did individual PT was "Momma's in the Graveyard, Poppa's in the Pen" by Garth Brooks. As weird as it sounds, it has the perfect beat to get into a good groove.

I just noticed every time I change up my workout music ( treadmill use) I always keep AC/DC on there....You shook me all night long...That one I never change. Trace Adkins songs are good motivators too.

Thatta girl!! :yay!: The Hip are good too!

I personally like dance music or positive Hip Hop (not the rap gangsta kind) ~ Justin Timberlake and artists like that. Top forty works for me and eighties dance tunes!!! But I do agree with Shell, anything rock related is good too....ACDC, Metallica, etc. Can't see country music being too inspiring...except if it's Shania!!
