This morning was going so well! The boys didn't wake up until 8:30! WHoohoo! After breakfast I decided that before I take my shower I was going to try and work out, becasue the boys were just behaving so well. Bad decision!!!! Just as I'm really gettig into it, Dylan wants to be held (of course), so I just try to get him interested in what I'm doing and incorporate him a little. Doesn't work. Ugh! It's so frustrating. Of course now that I'm sitting on my fat butt, not doing anything important, they're both playing like little angels!
However on a brighter note, Gavin was right by me trying to di the same things I was doing. It was addorable!

Guess I'll have to finfish up after they both go down this afternoon. I am going to take them swimming today, and I walk to the pool (about 2 blocks away). So I guess that's better than nothing!

I can soooooooooooooooooooo empathize with you. That has been my chief complain about getting back into a work out routine ~ motherhood!!!!

I got lucky though. I have the CDC here on base which is right across from the gym, which is about a 5 minute walk from where i Live. Needless to say I am taking full advantage of this (finally)

My suggestion to you is this:

Get up earlier and do what you can in the wee hours of the morning. It will be tough at first, but your body will soon crave it and get you out of bed before the alarm does. AND as the day goes on you will start to feel good about yourself because while you are sitting on your butt in front of the computer and the TV for extended periods of time, you can say to yourself "it's ok, I have already worked out today". (at least that is what I say to myself)

OR

when your kids take their naps, have everything set and ready to go. For me it was great. I would put them down around 1:30-2pm and then immediately jump on the treadmill. I would either run for 45 minutes or walk for an hour. End my work out session with some abs and then shower. By the time I got dressed the boys were waking up and I was a rejunenated woman. The problem however, was when it started getting super hot out. That is why working out first thing in the morning was better

I completely understand your frustration ~ BELIEVE ME. The only thing you have to do if it is important to you, is sacrifice some sleep time!!!!

Oh my preciouse sleep! But you're definitely right. I need to figure something out. Nap time usually works for me, I think I just got a bit to confident today! Thanks Christy!!

I don't know if this will work for you but during the school year I get up at 5:15 and walk on my treadmill. From there I go take a shower and get ready for the day. By 6:10 my nephew is here and I watch him. Then I get my boys up and ready for school. I feel ready for the day and am less irratiable in the morning! Plus for the kids! This summer has kind of through me off schedule and now since it has slowed down I might try it tomorrow. Let me know what you figure out!

My kids loved doing Tae Bo or even Pilates with me. Of course you'll need more floor space, but eventually they get board and start playing something else which gives me time to concentrate on the video.

The Pilates is something that bores my son 11 yo but my daughter 7yo loves and of course my son loves the Tae Bo.

Plus it might wear them out and put them to sleep!! or start great habits for exercise now.
