I've gone three days without soda. I just drink nestly peach tea or propel water or regular water all the time. When we eat out I always get soda. But I'm cutting back on that too.... so I should be able to keep on the no soda. My body just feels better anyway. When I drink soda at night I wake up with a puffy face the next morning! I LOVE MY DR. PEPPER!!!! but it is starting to cost me too much, my lower back hurts too when I drink it late at night. I think it's my kidney's or something who knows. All I know is this body is starting to FEEL old!

GREAT JOB going without soda. It's SO much better for you no matter what the reasons!

Kim...your doing better than me. I can't give up all my caffiene. I still drink my coffee and iced tea.

Kim i'm going on my gosh i think it's the 15th day today. Haven't slipped up once. IF I CAN DO IT so can you!!!!!

I made 22 days today!!!!!

Do i miss it??? Yes i do!!!! But i am doing it and will continue to do it. Unsweetened iced tea has become my best friend.

How is everyone else doing???

Jodie, I am JUST seeing this thread. I wish I would have seen it when you first posted. I just kicked my soda addiction on June 6th, so 77 days ago. I have not had a pepsi or coke since then. I didn't drink a lot, usually 1 a day at lunch time to get me through the afternoon at work and occasionally I would have one with dinner too. I had tried to give it up before, even trying to give it up for lent. WELL I finally did it. I have been trying to be much more heathy and started to diet and exercise and that all started on June 6th. I have not had one since. I was craving them at first and now I don't even want one anymore. My dh has one nightly with dinner and the other day I thought, umm... that looks good, so I decided to just take a sip and guess what, it was GROSS to me. It was so sweet and did not taste good in the slightest bit. I was SHOCKED! Never has that happened to me.

So I'm proud of you for sticking with it. We can all do this together! Trust me, it is so much better for you! I seriously could not believe that I could ever give up soda. I couldn't do it for 2 days before when I had tried. (I've tried a lot of times) I don't know what finally clicked this time for me, but it has worked.

Congrats to all of you who have kicked the habit, even if it is just for now. Oh I wanted to add, I don't drink coffee or tea. I just don't like the taste of either of them, hot or cold. SO it was really hard for me to kick soda as that was my only form of caffeine. Oh well, I'm surviving.

Coke is my biggest problem with my weight. It is the only thing I drink. But I get physically sick when I come off of it.

Good job ladies!!! I'm still going strong with no soda. I have been weaning off of tea and only drink it at work because it's free. That is the only time i get it. I am also trying to wean myself off of propel but I figure it's better than soda for now but I would like to cut down on costs. I need to find a water bottle in the cabinent and keep filling up. I only like our water at home which is filtered etc. so I like propel for that reasons when I'm out and about I know I like to drink it and I'm getting my water.

Keep up the good work. Now that my body is used to getting plenty of water I'm finding that if I don't get enough during the day I get a headache! It just makes me realize how delicate our bodies are and how much I was ignoring my body's messages!

I just found this thread and in time to i might add! I have been wanting to quit drinking Pepsi for a while now. Mostly because it packs on the pounds but also i know it's not good for you. I would try to quit every now and than and would go for days without touching the stuff. But i would find myself craving it so badly that i always went back to drinking it. I am so addicted to Pepsi that when i don't have it my whole body hurts! It's the first thing i think of in the am- sad isn't it?
I have been wanting to make some changes in my life and loosing weight is one of them so...
i prayed about it! I know that might sound odd to some of you but i am addicted to Pepsi like a fat kid is to cake! :D
Well i think God got my prayer because the store where i will only buy/ drink my (fountain)Pepsi from closed down! Out of the Blue!! ( After 3 yrs in bussiness!)
So hows that for sending me a message?? LOL
So i am offically Day 1 with No Pepsi!!
Jodi, Julie and girls You guys are my inspiration! I am so impressed that you ladies have kicked the habit!!! Good Job!! Way to GO!! :cool:

A little bad news...


I was doing so well with the no soda thing but i've been feeling like crap. I have my doctor appointment on Friday. So yesterday i was just so sick to my stomach and i gave in and had a sprite. It seemed to help. Then today at Wyatt's birthday i had another one.

I don't feel so bad about it because i had a sprite. If it had been the dredded pepsi i would feel alot worse.

I still don't plan on drinking it all the time but i do feel i broke the habit of drinking sooooooooooo much every day. I am going to start again tomorrow not drinking it.

I am bummed because it was my 27th day clean (haha) yesterday.

:D However i'm not down on myself. I am still proud that i have not touched pepsi or coke with all the caffiene.

ksmom~Your post sounds so much like me!!!! How have you done???

I think you've done great Jodie!! You're my hero. I'd never be able to go that long, but I know I should give it up. Don't beat yourself up, just get back on the wagon.
