I gave up regular Mountain Dew in mid January- I have to admit that I did have a little sip of it this past weekend (just to see how I would be with it)- at first when it hit my tongue it was too sweet- then when I swallowed it :hurl: - it tasted like thick gross syrup (kind of reminded me of cough syrup)! So I totally agree with Rakshanda- it takes about 1 month to have your body adjust (BTW- I gave up all pop products- only drink water and real juice and the occasional iced tea- raspberry of course). BTW- I also heard that Diet pops are also just as bad for you and your body- since they use artificial sugar it tricks your mind about your sugar intake- but then when you have real sugar you tend to eat more of it because you "tricked" your body about your sugar intake (I heard it from many people before and also heard Danny Bonaduce say it during one of those question parts of Pod fitness.

I did not quit it cold turkey- I use to drink it from sun up to sun down. I saw how much weight you can lose just by not drinking it and went for it. I started with 1 glass in the am and each day I would give myself less until I only had one sip (I used to get terrible caffeine headaches and slowly cut myself back). If you dwell on it, it does make it seem worse- but it can be done! Just anytime you are thirsty- grab a tall glass of ice water!

Good luck and if I can do it- anyone can! Your body and your teeth will thank you (Mt. Dew is one of the worst pops for your teeth).

I try to have just one a day. I can't totally quit or I will get headaches. I have been increasing my water intake. My thing right now is chocolate.

Ok I went to the gas station bought a flavored water and a Reeses oops! Well I need my chocolate right now Then I went to the bank so it wasn't too bad. Could've been worse, right?

How is it going? Are you staying strong? I have to admit the day you posted that, my dh went and out and bought me some Diet Dr. Pepper (I needed the caffine trying to win PTM!) Hope its stil going well for you!

Well lets just say I have not had any soda. But I did have a coffee on Tuesday and one yesterday. I think now my problem is chocolate?????????ughhhhhhhhhhhh If it is not one thing it is another! I will get it, eventually. But I am going to be fully accountable for my actions and try to make up for it in the end. I have done more exercising this week then I have in a long time including the Exercise of the Week. Yay for that!
