Happy Birthday! Today is the 400th Anniversary of the English-speaking
people in the New World. There are a variety of commemorations, events,
and items of interest that one can google under "Jamestown 400". Below
is an excerpt from one of these:

"On April 26th 1607, the Susan Constant, the Godspeed, and the
Discovery
landed in Virginia Beach and there Robert Hunt called for three days of
prayer and fasting. On April 29th, he planted a cross and dedicated the
New World to God and to the preaching of the Gospel worldwide.

After continuing up the James River, on May 14 Chaplain Hunt, dedicated
the Jamestown location to the glory of God, and the colonists "began
thereon ... in the name of God to raise a fortresse."
