My insurance paid for all of it but $25. I had 7lbs of mostly breast tissue removed, the surgery lasted 6hrs. The MD that did it was the most experienced in this area, he had done over 1000 of them by the time I saw him. He told me it was usually a same day procedure but mine was going to be quite extensive due to my size and the rebuild so I stayed overnight. I got the bill a few weeks later, it cost over $15,000!
I had put it off for a year because I wanted to lose weight but the pain I was having in my neck back and shoulders, the headaches and skin rashes were unbearable so I decided to go through with it. I'm so glad I did not wait... not having those things hanging off my body made it easier for me to exercise and motivated me to lose weight. The MD said he removed all the fatty tissue (there was very little to begin with) so if I were to lose weight it would not affect my breast size. He was right, since the surgery I have lost 60lbs, my breasts are the same size.
