I'm just curious if anyone else has done this or if it's just me and my quirky ways.

As some one you know I am formally obese. I am now technically overweight. My goal is to get within my BMI range. I decided to lose it s...l..o...w...l...y so that it would stay off and only 10 lbs at a time, then maintain for a few months then go down another 10. This really helped me with the feelings of being deprived. (I was at my heaviest in 2003 ... my youngest was born in 2000 so that was no excuse.)

I lost the first 10 lbs on Atkins (yummy but too hard to stay on for life). I maintained that loss for 5 months.
I lost the 2nd 10 lbs on weight watchers (IMHO the most sensible but expensive and I loved the support.) I maintained that for 7 months.
I lost the next 10 lbs at TOPS (much less expensive, good support, but no real 'plan' that I could understand.
I lost the next 10 lbs by following my old ww plan out of a book. It worked but I needed the support, and I gained most of that back.
Now I'm in First Place, a faith centered weight loss program. It's pricey but our church bought the rights to it so it's free now. It's got the support I like and a plan, and it's free.

I only have 10 more lbs to go!

Anyone else do it this way too?

No, but it sounds great!!! I just can't bring myself to pay money for someone to tell me to exercise and eat right!!! I do like the 10 pound at a time thing too!!! I have recently gotten back on the wagon (after stepping on the scale at the dr office!) and am trying to watch my portion size, eat lots of fruit and drink lots of water!

Good luck on that last 10 pounds!!!

I lost 25lbs and am now going to try to take off the last 10 lbs. I didn't use a particular plan, I just ate less calories. I ate the same healthy foods.
