On rare occasion I have very real dreams of loved ones who've passed. Sometimes they tell me info, sometimes lending encouragement, sometimes just to give me a great big hug. It's just so real, and I am thankful for the visit, and awaken feeling fortunate to have had the experience. Is it my mind giving me what I need to cope with their loss? Sometimes it's people who were gone before I got here, did I meet them somewhere else? I have always had vivid dreams, good and bad, but I Feel their hugs, the light beams around them, they are well and happy, and it calms me.

Maybe you are a medium. I've read that gifts like that come in varying degrees...maybe yours is strongest when your conscious mind is shut down for the day. I think it's nice. As long as it makes you feel good & calms you then it's a good thing IMO anyway.

I've had several dreams of my sister since she died. All of my dreams are like replays of things that really happened to us. I have yet to have a dream where she gives me a hug or sits down and talks to me. When I wake up I feel cheated. My mom tells me it's because she doesn't think I'm ready for that, and it's best that I just dream of the past.

After my ds died, my husband and I each had some dreams like that. I always thought it was his way of telling us that he was all right and he still loved us!

I once dreamed about dh's father (I never met him). He was telling me where a piece of jewelry we had lost was. Well, I looked and it wasn't there, but it was soo real. I have always felt like I have met him after that dream. He had been in the house (he helped dh buy it) and maybe that was his way of getting to know me. He was really sweet and I really value that dream!
Spin off, but do you think they follow us to different homes? I do, sometimes I feel them around me.

I've had them, too, and they are so real that I wake up and have to realize that it was a dream. I think it is their way of making contact while we aren't being distracted by all our other senses.

I had one about my father after he died. He was much younger and still working in the firehall like he used to, even had a mustache like back then. I was looking and looking for him and getting really angry that I couldn't find him. Finally I found him sitting at a desk. I sat on his lap and hugged him and something weird happend. It's like we became one person and I woke up, there was even a flash. To me it meant he would always be with me. It was very real feeling and something I needed at the time.

Dreams about my Dad when things are getting rough.
It'll seem so real; he usually hands me a shovel and tells me to dig in and fight.

I truely belive it's their way of telling us they're with us....
When I was pregnant with DD (1999), I was missing my grandfather terribly..we were very close and he passed away in 1986. I dreamed I was laying back in my Dad's recliner and my Grandfather was standing over me and telling me not to worry, that my daughter is beautiful, I'll be fine and he will always be here. He was holding my hands close to my chest. I woke with a start and my hands were held tight, on my chest, just as if I was holding his hands in mine.
After DS was born in 2002, I was having a rough night in the hospital and I dreamed of my aunt that passed away in 1984, I don't think about her often, but she's a sense of comfort for me. I really thought she was there at the top of my bed stroking my hair, and only realized the next day how impossible that was, but how real it felt.
