I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm hoping hospitalization can help them find an answer to her depression. Children that young shouldn't be so unhappy. Let us know when you hear something.

Okay, get this...they sent her HOME. The ER says they did every physical test he could..and all is negative..and there was no way he was treating a ten year old for depression..so he sent her home...to see her own doctor at 9am in the morning. My poor sister..she is a wreck.

Most hospitals do NOT treat psychiatric issues anymore - you almost always have to go to a psychiatric hospital. As mental health agencies have gotten bigger and bigger, hospitals just don't work in that area unless there is an underlying health issue.

It sounds like she a LOT of anxiety and that this might be a bigger issue which leads to the depression. Has she gone thru any trauma?

That we know of, there has been NO trauma...we have a family history...my brother tried to commit suicide three times...and my grandmother was paranoid of everyone and everything. We are thinking this may be playing into Ashley?? She has progressively gotten worse since about May...and then just suddenly plumeted. I just don't know. We are grasping at straws until she gets in to see the psychiatrist. Which, did not happen again today...they didn't even return my sister's OR her drs' phone calls. We are just waiting until tomorrow to see what happens then. I so appreciate the prayers...everyone's walking on eggshells for now..and just keeping a close eye on her until they can get her in with the psychiatrist.
