if I'm not a mommy? I hope it doesn't matter! I still have that lovely 10 pounds left to lose. Here's my story.
I am 5'3 and currently weight 132. I have a small frame for the most part, bone wise. Have always been my heaviest in my butt and thighs, which when I weighed 100 pounds was not a problem area if you know what i mean..lol. Anyway, I was way athletic, and into every sport imaginable for the longest time, high school and college. Well, when that stopped, my eating habits did NOT. So that, and the depo-provera shot, and three years later, I had gained 50 pounds. Ridiculous. 150 is by no means FAT in my opinion, but when you consider what I HAD weighed for so long, I had gained 50% of my weight in three to four years! SAD SAD SAD! All of that, with NO CHILDREN! So, when I got married last year, at my heaviest of exactly 150 pounds, I thought, " no way, this is the line I am drawing, and I will not gain one pound over 150".....so I started to eat a little better after that. I had lost about 8 pounds (not a whole lot) by doing weight watchers (it works, I just wasn't that strict), but with no working out. So i was plateaued at 142 for months. SO finally, this march, I joined Curves, and went hard core on the counting calories thing. Went to curves 5 days a week, no matter what, and ate at most 1200 calories per day....when I joined curves, they weighed me at 145 on March 9th. As of my last weigh in there on July 12th, i weighed 132 and have lost over 10 inches total (most of which have been in my boobage area, which is a tad upsetting, but oh well, never had much of those to begin with!!) But, the only bad news is, is that I weighed 132 the weigh in prior, so I only maintained. UGH. It was my first "lazy" month, where I only worked out 3-4 times a week, and didn't watch too much of what I ate. So now, starting this week, hardcore once again to get the last 12 pounds off and I'll be happy. I knwo what I look/feel like at 120, and haven't been there in sooo long, that my old jeans are dusty, severely! I just wanna be "in shape" enough to not get winded after a walk outside, or playing with the pups. This said, I also want to get back to my normal weight, so that when I do choose to have children, I won't have sooo far to go back to get back to normal...make sense? Or is that a silly goal to have?? Someone help me out with that one.
So starting today! I am going to get back to curves 5 days a week, plus I have to find something to add to that mix. Something cardio, or outdoors. Want to walk, probably will bring a dog with me, and since I live on the gulf coast of texas, I know I will be sweating profusely before getting to the end of the driveway. Maybe that will help.
Anyway, can I join this "weigh in" group?? Does anyone mind?? I could use the extra support from some women (other than my mom and sister, who are doing the same as I already), and since my DH could drop 12 pounds in two days....ugh. Anyway, would love to join!
