I use the Windsor Pilates dvd that focuses on the buns and thighs. I LOVE it because it only takes about 20 minutes to complete the entire series of exercies. I try to do it 5 days a week. Good luck finding one that works for you!

As a work-at-home teleservices operator, workout videos is a big part of what I sell. From the programs I've seen, I think Yoga-Booty-Ballet is probably my style but I still don't own it.

Let me put it this way ... you still have to pop the DVD into the player and do the moves. There isn't any workout video on the planet that is going to MAKE you work out. Either you're already into the mode of working out or you're not. If you are used to working out on a regular basis, then you probably have a pretty good idea of the kind of workout you want to do. If not, a workout video may not be the best place to start.

That said, IF you want to try doing at-home workouts, I recommend you rent them from the library or even Netflix. That way you can see for yourself if you'll get up and do the routine on a regular basis (if so, buy it!) and if not, you haven't wasted your money.

Before I got my gym membership I worked out to the Slim in 6 series and Power 90 series by Beachbody (beachbody.com). They were great for me. The Power 90 is only 30 minutes which was great when my kids were younger. Now that they are older I prefer going to the gym but if I can't make it out I still use these DVD's. Hope this helps!

I use lots of them. I love tae bo and I love the FIRM tapes. I only have the old ones from the 90s but I think they are wonderful. I want to buy some new ones but there are so many to choose from now that I don't know which ones to get, so I just stick to my oldies but goodies. I also really like Karen Voight. THe Crunch videos are good when you only have 30 minutes - I have lots of them ranging from power yoga to abs. The original Cindy Crawford workout tape is GREAT too. I really like that one.

If you have On Demand, there are tons of exercise shows in the sports and fitness section. They are short but they are great when you don't have much time. Lots of variety there.

I second The Firm. I used them in the 80s when they were like $50 apiece - now they're down to $15-20. Just be careful - modify for you. I did rip a shoulder that will never repair itself because I overdid it with the weights while stepping - you just have to NOT work through the fatigue - that's how injuries happen. I learned to stop and let the video keep going until I could catch up again.

Pilates are wonderful - they work on your core, and combine control with yoga and stretching. I love yoga, so that flexibility was a great start.

In one of our chat threads (affordable work out equipment) we had this very discussion. You may want to refer to it

I am also a "FIRM BELIEVER". I love that series. It kicks you in the butt ~ in a good way!

I just ordered one of the Biggest Loser workout videos and can't wait for it to get here. I'll let you know if I think it's a good one.
