anyone ever used medications to help with weight loss? - Page 3

I'm interested to know how it goes for you, too. I'm currently taking fastin (one of the phen-fen combo...the one that isn't bad) and I've lost about 25 lbs in 3 months. I still have about 80 to go, though. Hope it all goes well for you.

Hmmmm.....I've not heard of fastin. Is it an amphetamine/stimulant? What are the side effects? I think 25 pounds in 3 months is very good!

thanks so much. i will admit, i'm not exactly "counting" on this to work for me like i was before i started to take it, especially since things never seem to work for me.

positive thoughts, i know, i know...i'm hoping this really makes a difference for me.

i was thinking the same thing. but when i read more into the side effects, it says that less than 5% of the drug stays in the system, 95% of it seems to come out when you use the bathroom. ok. so that means i have 3 pills worth of alli in me, because i ate only once today, took the pill...and uhm....2 hours later...NOTHING. i did feel pressure "back there" but when i sat down, ehh...i just sat there.

and today i had a fast food meal--about 20g worth of fat!

ok, and this is VERY wierd for me, because usually i am going to the bathroom within 30 minutes of eating ANY fast food (side effect of having my gallbladder removed). now i took the pill, and i have no urges to even poop (besides that pressure which is not producing anything). and like i said, this was over 2 hours ago.

ehhh...i guess i'll try again tomorrow, since i'm not going to eat anymore today!

Aliadam, it is p h e n t e r m i n e. Fastin is 30 mg of it; adipex is 37.5mg of the p h e n t e r m i n e. I'm at a stand still right now with it, but I'm going to try to drink more water to flush me out some more. Feel free to ask me about it.

So does it make you hyper or your heart race or give you insomnia? Curious minds want to know

Well, it gives me a dry mouth and constipation. So I drink a lot of water and take a mild laxative once a week. It can raise blood pressure and heart rate, but I have a sensitive heart and it never gives me problems. My blood pressure always stays really good, too. It can give some people a touch of insomnia at first, but since I tend to be chronically exhausted, it gives me a normal level of alertness. It just really wipes out my appetite so that I can eat much smaller portions.

i was a little iffy about the appetite loss. i am the type to eat even when i'm not hungry...so appetite suppressing wouldn't help this greedy girl! lol!

but so far, this is day 3...and nothing yet! as a matter of fact, i think i am constipated. i took 2 pills today...and well...here i am...still waiting for the miraculous "poo".

let me not talk too soon...i don't want to find myself RUNNING to the bathroom every 3 minutes for the next 3 months! lol
