After having dd, I had postpartum depression/anxiety and I also have post traumatic stress which causes depression, anxiety, obsessiveness. So I have been on Zoloft for 7 months. It works great! It takes a few weeks though. I felt pretty good initially, and then it kind of wore off a little and then a few weeks later I felt good again. But sometimes it feels like it is wearing off and that is when you have to go up to a higher dose, so don't be discouraged if in a few weeks you find that it isn't working anymore.

Good luck, and feel free to PM me if you ever need someone to talk to.

I am happy you took the steps to get the help you need. I have been on medication for depression for 2 years. I finally had to admit that I needed help as well. At times I would stop taking thinking I was better and the same symptoms would come back. Snapping at dh, tired all the time, not wanting to do anything. I am on Cymbalta and it is a life saver. There is nothing wrong with admitting you need help, congrats to you!

I had post partum depression after my first son was born and put on zoloft. I stopped it abrubtly when I found out I was pregnant with #2 and that was a HUGE mistake. I had a huge setback and had to be medicated for the entire 2nd pregnancy because of antepartum depression. I've been on zoloft ever since. I've tried weaning off it gradually and decreasing my dose but it doesn't work so I have to go back to my regular dose.
Good luck with the lexapro and keep us updated!
