Just wondering. I will be getting one at work (nursing home) Every year except last year my boys have gotten shots because they are high risk (3 have asthma, one is under 5). Last year we never did because we were moving and I just never got to it. I need to call about getting them this year. My 14 yr old has never had one because they used to always be in short supply and she is not high risk. Do you think I should get her one too?

I work at a local Hospital so getting a Flu shot id not an option. I am pregnant anyway though, so I would still get one this year. My DS, almost 4 has asthma so he alsways gets them.

no, we aren't around babies, and teh kids are over 3, so if we get them we have to pay for them and they are expensive, so its a no go for us. we have only ever had them once, but the kids rarely get sick and they are not high risk so its ok for now.

I am pro flu shots, but I also give them at the pharmacy I work at. Safeway pharmacies offer them, and we can bill insurances. I know that our state medicaid system pays for them, and some larger insurances will pay for them also. I see so many people come in looking horrible with the flu. If your insurance pays, please get one. It is more expensive to go to the doctor and buy prescriptions then to pay the $10 to $20 for the shot.

Nope...we don't fall under any of the 'at risk' categories.

Yes! Tommy is a "must" and if the doctor feels it is necessary, the rest of us will be getting one as well. He's already on the list to receive his shots (he needs two total)

No we don't get them...I've never been a big supporter of them, at least for myself. There are soooo many strains of the flu virus out there, and the flu shot just provides some protect against the few that whoever is in charge decides might be the most prevalent during flu season. With my luck I would end up infected by a strain not covered on the the flu shot!

Our school is part of a test program that gives the nasal mist vaccine to all children (with parental permission of course) for free, so my younger ds will be getting that. My older son will get the flu shot because with his allergies he is not a good candidate for the nasal vaccine.

Yes we will be getting them. My oldest ds and I both have asthma so we both need them. My youngest ds is starting pre-k and I am going to ask his doc if he should get one.
