Well, first of all I realized that a lot of us and including myself might have a tad communication problem. The thread was called "I believe in God" I wanted anyone and everyone who believed in God to be able to respond. The poem was a point I was trying to make in how we interpret things and sometimes are interpretations and intentions are not what others see or feel. I like to write poetry to express my feelings sometimes. I wrote it to Calimari to find out how it made her feel. It wasn't meant to make her feel bad. I actually wanted her to feel good but like I said my interpretations and things seen through my eyes are quiet different than others. The point I was trying to prove is that sometimes it is hard to see eye to eye if we are all looking through different colored lenses. Like, for instance I was trying to be positive about a different religion and someone else wrote negatives about it. Did anyone remember the positives I wrote. No, they not only remembered the negatives but they grouped my opinions with her as if I wrote them. Like I said I was trying to be positive and apologize if something I said was taken the right way but you can't group someones response with what I wrote. It really isn't a fair determination. Thank you all for reading

hey Amber - well, the title of this thread sure caught my eye! Your poem didn't make me feel bad - it simply confused me. It seemed apparent that you thought I was angry, when I was not the least bit angry. So it didn't make sense in relationship to my post, to me anyway. As far as your I believe in God thread - I, for one, knew you didn't write any of that stuff about all muslims being terrorists. That was someone else talking from their own perspective. But I didn't see that thread as an invitation for only Christians to answer. It is apparently what you intended, but it didn't work out that way. Here's why:
You wrote: For all believers. Do you think that God should have his own thread? Every time something is put on the soul searching about him. Someone tells us how he doesn't exist or how this religion or that is flawed and prayers never get answer and you can be good without thinking about God. Sure, I still believe in God no matter what but I think it weakens our human strength and thoughts when someone wants to tell us that we are wasting our time because he doesn't exist or answer prayers and tries to turn our beliefs into negatives. I am sorry but this bothers me and I wonder if anyone else has thoughts on this?
If you stopped after the first question, you would have been fine. However, you then wrote that it bothers you when people post their differing opinions about god, or that every time something is posted about god, someone comes in with an opposite perspective. Well, that's the nature of an open forum and, by bringing that into your opening comment, it opened up the thread to people who wanted to respond to that end of it. I'm certainly not trying to poke my nose into every thread about religion - I think there are maybe 5 or 6 in all 3 pages of this forum that I've posted in. Clearly the majority of them are what you are looking for. But - yea - I agree - there is a communication problem. Since I have a degree in Communications, I'll assume that I'm being clear.

Well, when I stated the differing opinion I meant those who do not believe in God. I just didn't want to come out and say it and offend someone. So, yes I sometimes have some communication problems of my own. I am trying to learn about people in different settings and ways if you look at my response to you on the White flag thread it might make more sense. O.k. so I should of wrote it bothers me when I write something positive about God, and I am not talking about just you, talk negatively about it. I don't mean to offend just trying to be honest. I don't mind having a thread with everyones opinions, I wanted a thread where we all at least agree on one thing. That there is a God. So, I wanted the best of both worlds.

I actually thought you were asking people for their opinions about starting a christian only thread. I am one of the stated Catholics, from another thread, and I know from years of previous experience on this board that I tend to disagree with alot of other Christians and yes even my fellow Catholics.
I don't offend easy and I hope I didn't offend u either. I speak my mind to everyone. I even plan on telling my priest that I think a comment he made during a sermon was a comment that keeps women with abusive husbands. I'll let u knew how that goes.

This is what I thought too. I did not think that that was the actual thread you were talking about.

You did not offend me whatsoever. I was afraid I offended you. That is good for you to stand up for what you believe in. I personally agree, coming from the home I did. I do not think women should stay with abusive husbands. God has no use for violence. Especially in the home. Children and mothers should feel safe, not live in fear in their own home.
