"Speak when you are angry--and you will make the best speech you'll ever regret." ~ Laurence J. Peter

I know I have a few of these, how about you??

If I could take back some of the things I wrote out of anger and emotion....

I try very hard in my old age of almost 35 to think about things before I respond with emotion. Usually, it isn't as bad as it came across the first time.....

It is a very good quote it reminds me of Winston Churchhill's "Speak softly, carry big stick"
I am trying to do the same thing.

I've been trying

I try to think to myself, "Is this the hill I want to die on?" Obviously not literally, but sometimes, it's better to just go away, make up arguments in my head, then chill out, then come back.

Same with writing and then erasing what I've written. It feels good to get it out, but sometimes, the whole world doesn't need to see it. Just you, for just a second, then erase.

Hey I am also the ripe old age of 35 LOL. But I try to do the same. I think I have gotten much better at bitting my tongue and if I don't I am quicker at admitting fault if I say something totally out of line

I tell my sister this all the time. She is always wanting to write letters to people...and I tell her, write it, put it in an evelope, you can even address it if you want to...BUT THEN THROW IT AWAY.

This was a HUGE reason that I started a journal. Something that I can just write thoughts out for me and me only. It is funny when you go back three or four months later and read it.

When I was younger, I used to feel so righteous in my anger. Now that I am more mature , I realize that there is a lot of benefit to learning to let go of things rather than let them get to me. I am usually not proud of the things I say and do when I am angry.
