Ok, Recently I've been watching "a haunting" on the discovery channel... they say the stories are real, I've always been a fan of ghost hunters on the sci-fi channel so recently I am wondering about all this stuff.. so my question is, has anyone ever lived in a haunted house or known someone that did?? How did you deal with it???

Yes. People who don't believe in ghosts are people who have never seen one. I am a woman of faith and I've seen a ghost and so have many members of our family. Our cottage (built in the late 1800s) has one. People, especially a lot of our Christian friends don't believe it until they come up and see it for themselves and then they never want to talk about it again. We get use to it. It's not scary. We don't understand why he is there or who he is (although we have our suspicions) but we see him as clear as anything (never his face, just walking by or the back of him in a room facing a wall) and then he just vanishes. The kids see him more. We never talk about it. It's sort of like a big family secret. But when people come to stay with us, they learn soon enough. It really freaks people out but I've been going there every summer since I was born and I've only seen him 3 times.

I always thought "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" but if people are getting stuck somehow, that really uspsets me? My dad just passed... what if hes a ghost?? And if they are stuck, arent we supposed to help send them on??? I'm very confused and have alot of questions...

I've never experienced anything, but a few people I know who people of worth, sound of mind, intelligent, have shared some of their stories with me, and I find I believe them. But I also bet that some are just hooey.

I DEFINITELY believe in ghosts/hautings. They only ghost I have ever witnessed was one I never saw, I heard it. I was in my bedroom at my parents' old house, and I was laying in bed, had just about gotten to sleep when I hear someone "walk" into my room, you know how you can hear footsteps on carpet. I had never had this happened, and it never happened again, but I thought my mom or dad had walked in, so I rolled over and no one was there. Then I followed the "steps" all the way into the closet (I could hear them, I could never see them) stop, and then all the way back out and out of my room. It was NO ONE, NOT THE DOG, NOT ANYONE. I can't figure out who it could have been, but I know it was footsteps, without a doubt.
My grandma passed a year ago, and if she was a ghost i really wish I could see her. Really badly. I know that sounds weird, but I miss her like crazy and would love to see her, even if she was just a ghost. I've told her over and over to come "visit" me, but she hasn't, so I guess she's no ghost.
I love old haunting ghost stories and cities that are "haunted" like Savannah, Georgia, what a cool thing!???!!!!
Totally a ghost believer!

I have been to Savannah ONCE, and it was amazing...I almost put that in my reply. And didn't for some reason. But while I was there I felt like I had to constantly look over my shoulder...like someone was following me.
Also, New Orleans has some very cool buildings to visit!!
Fun stuff!!

I completely believe. I've seen and heard them. Once I was in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, at the Basin Park Hotel when a woman appeared to me in my room. I told the staff the next day as I was checking out that the hotel was haunted. This man behind the desk looked at me as calmly and seriously as ever and said, "Yes. Did you see the man or the woman?" It was uncomfortable for me to see her because she looked like she was mad, but it was a neat experience.
In our house there are noises and shadow people at times. We've had electronic toys move and start on their own. One of those Fisher Price baby toys that has piano type light up keys on it that hang down when baby is on its back and then folds up for when they stand...well, you have to kick/hit these hanging toys to get the music and lights to flash and play. He honestly thought I was very imaginative with my stories about the house, but one night Matt and I were watching tv in our family room. The piano toy was right in front of him when all of a sudden the hanging toys moved as if they were knocked and the music started playing. He jumped, looked at me, and said, "What the heck was that?!?" I calmly looked at him and said, "I told you we have a ghost." He's a believer now.
As for the "absent from this world is to be present with the Lord," I have several questions about that. It also says that there will be one Judgement Day and all will rise up from their graves. Does that mean that we aren't really in Heaven until Judgement Day? Maybe some other realm? Or....could it be that we are present with the Lord immediately, but we can still move from there to earth to see our loved ones and important places?
I have no answers, but I do believe in ghosts.

I do believe in ghosts and i actually really believe i may have one in my home. Strange things have been happening since we moved here three years ago. Strange noises on the baby monitor, feeling like someone is standing behind me, knobs turned on the appliances that no one has touched. Yesterday a friend came over and when she went to leave the little alarm on my front door went off. Neither one of us had turned it on. Strange things like that. I looked at her and said see i told you we have a ghost....and she said...."I see what you mean now"..... Thank goodness ours is more of a prankster than anything.
My grandmother was very much into ghosts and witch crafty kind of things. My mother and aunt told me stories regarding their childhood that i believe happened too.
There was a dog that they had and one day he ran through the living room and as he got to the middle of the floor his rear end flew up in the air as if he had been kicked in the butt. He yelped and took off running. From that day on he would never go through the middle of the room. He would only go around the edge of the room and he cried as he did.
My aunts and uncles all slept upstairs and every night they would hear someone repeatedly
walk up the stairs and across the floor. They would call out to the oldest brother but he wasn't anywhere around.
Once when i was around third grade i swore i saw someone outside my bedroom window and all of a sudden i felt something grab my leg.....I pulled my leg out of the grip and then ran to my mom. Of course she told me i was dreaming but even to this day i feel it was true.
Have i freaked anyone out yet???

I think most of the stories are bunk. I love Ghosthunters, don't miss an episode, but one thing I love about them is that they are really good at disproving most of the stories. I have been to Savannah many, many, many times and never experienced any hauntings. Apparently, I went to one of the most haunted places there, Pirates Cove restaurant, and nothing was out of the ordinary.
While I think it is possible, I think Ghosthunters and a few others are very good at pointing out how and why most of the "stories" are just that "stories". JMO
