If so, NOW is the time to dig it out, buy it, and use it! We are going to start a program called WALKTOBER whereby members can come and track their daily/weekly steps.

Get moving people! WALKTOBER STARTS MONDAY!

This may be the first time I participate in one of your challenges Christy!! I'm basically an unathletic lazy unmotivated blob , but did get a pedometer not too long ago because I wanted to start that thing where they say everyone should take 10,000 steps per day. If I can find it under the buried dust, I may try to join along. :happy dance: But you'll have to keep nagging me probably!!

I might not be ready till the 2nd or the 3rd but I am in as soon as fedex or ups drops it off. I live in a really small town and could get one cheaper on line with 2nd day shipping.

If you have one and want to join this movement: WALKTOBER be sure to record your daily steps and report in with us......it's for the WHOLE month of October.

Each week give yourself a goal: 5000 steps a day or maybe 10,000 steps a day (which is equivalent to 5 miles I believe). Whatever keeps you focused....try and give yourself something to work towards! And if you are finding it too easy to achieve your weekly goals, UP YOUR step count!

I need one!!! I would love to start this walkoberfest (made up my word) Anyway, I live in a neighborhood that is great for walking, we have some nice inclines. I had started walking last year and got a little discouraged because I wasn't losing weight but my stamina was better so time to start again. I would like to create a habit out of this so I will continue on the tread mill when it is super cold out. Okay I am starting Monday...I will look for a pedometer today. :happy dance:

I have one! Bought it because I wanted to start jogging but I read a thing online and the article actually suggests walking however much and working your way up so, I might as well not be stubborn for once since you have this going on.

Hopefully I won't forget about the pedometer some days though.

I've got a really nice one (that needs a new battery) and a couple others that were less expensive. I'll use one of the cheaper ones until I make to KMart or Target to buy a replacement battery for my good one!
