Great, now I can't remember how he worded it, but is was something like this "If someone does't ask for your advice, don't give it." I like that. I need to remember it. Sometimes you think when someone tells you some problem, you think they are asking for your advice. But usually they just want you to listen. Obviously there are times when you need to voice your opinion, but most of the time, it is not necessary.

Sometimes you just want to hear "everything will be ok". And that is it. Or sometimes you just want a hug.

You don't always want someone to give you a solution.

I am saying that to my DH all the time "I don't want you to fix it, I just want you to listen."
