This is kind of a spin off of a thread most commonly seen in the Simple Living Forum as "simple pleasures", however not all of us frequent that forum so maybe by having something like it here, we can put a completely different spin on the meaning of it!

What personal victories did you overcome today? What feel good moments happenned to you? Who made you smile and why?

I will go ahead and give my feel good moment today!

The kids have been playing outside a lot lately, especially since it snowed. They love the snow. My oldest ds prefers to stay out longer than the youngest one, naturally. Anyway, on their THIRD attempt to go outside, ds #2 asks "mommy, are you coming?" I said "In a minute...." and ds #1 says "mommy needs some alone time .... let's go....".

Where he got that, I don't know...but man did it feel good to know that my 4 year old put his mommy first!

We had our Christmas cantata at church this morning. I sang with the choir. Daniel and Stephen were part of the nativity (Mary and Joseph - there aren't any little girls at our church, so Stephen graciously played the part of Mary). Emily wore angel wings and fluttered about the church. DH and Andrew sat beaming as they watched the production. it was so endearing to see everyone enjoying the program. Of course, the kids stole he show!

We also visited an elderly shut-in this afternoon. The smile on her face as she spoke with the kids made my day! Sometimes it's so hard to make myself visit, but I always feel so glad when we do. It made my heart happy to see her mood change from gloom to cheer just from a short visit.
