"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." ~ Albert Einstein

"Look at all the sentences which seem true and question them." ~ David Reisman

"The most erroneous stories are those we think we know best - and therefore never scrutinize or question." ~ Stephen Jay Gould

Have any of you ever questioned something, and NOT liked the answer you got??

What did you do when you didn't like the answer??

I think it's safe to say when someone asks me something, they want an honest answer. I can sense whether or not they are ready to hear it. Sometimes I can break it to them gently if I know I don't share the same opinion as that person and sometimes I just need to say it. A wake up call, so to speak.

Of course, I've heard things I wasn't ready to hear when I've questioned someone. Different perspectives are a good thing. I may not see that right away but it will eventually come to me. Depending on the source and their intention, I try not to take it too personally. It's hard to separate emotion from hearing something you didn't want to hear, but in the quiet of it all, it's easier to rationally think about it and maybe see where that person is coming from.

Either way, questioning something is fine.

I think I like this one the best the more I think about it. It is the stories that are full of holes and errors that we tend to believe.

Makes me think of a line out of Pretty Woman....what did she say...the negative stuff is easier to believe or something like that.
