So how did every do this year/ week? Even if you dropped out of this earlier this year- we want to hear from you Motivated Mommies!!

Well this week I did gain 1.5 lbs- I am not stressing over that- kind of expected some weight gain this week with all the holiday events and not enough time to make time for exercising!

This year was a major accomplishment for me- I quit smoking, lost around 45 lbs and made drastic lifestyle changes. Normally those New Year's Resolutions usually last a couple weeks and then I fall off- this year I put forth some effort and it did work in my favor! For the most part I was a "motivated mommy"- one thing I kept repeating to myself is that it is easy to become fat- it is hard to lose the fat, it only takes 6 weeks to make a new routine or even see results and just seeing the difference in my energy levels and I was not as "tired" anymore (I was able to play longer and harder with my family, I was not out of breath running around doing normal house chores, my house seemed to be cleaner with all that extra energy!). I still have a way to go- but the first steps is always the hardest when you do something like this. I have big plans for next year for myself and want to thank the original people who started motivated mommies- although I really don't know what happened to all of you- I really hope that this upcoming year if you decide this is the year that I am going to FINALLY lose that weight- I truly hope it will work for you as well as it did for me this year! So next week starts a new year- i am hoping to have something similiar to motivated mommies because the support & advice is what kept me going in the beginning! On the final note although I did have a few failures this past year (platueas, poison ivy, muscle pains and laziness!)- I have to say compared to this time last year- I am going out with a bang!

Well, I have not really tried since about February!!! But I have succeeded in cutting my portion sizes and I have not gained any weight. I really am not truly a MOTIVATED mommy any more. I have accepted myself the way I am!

Good for your though!! Sounds like you did awsome!

Well, this morning I didn't weigh myself. I wanted to, but I didn't want to be disappointed so I decided to give myself the week off so that I wouldn't obsess if I had gained a couple of pounds. I let myself have 3 days to eat whatever I wanted over the holidays and today my jeans feel tight! But I am making myself wear them to get back on track. I started the day with an hour of tae bo and got the old journal out again.

This year was incredible for me. I finally got the body back that I had before kids. I haven't seen this body in 8 years! I finally buckled down, counted calories, started exercising regularly again, and stopped making excuses. I have kept the weight off since May and I finally feel like I am in control of my size again. I loved the motivated mommies Friday check ins, and I loved having stevesgal to post with. This year I want to lose about 5 more pounds and do more weight training. I want to push myself harder with my workouts and maybe try some new things. Let's keep it going!

Stevesgal you rocked this Motivated Mommies Program. You were the ONLY consistent poster since the program got started a year ago! I could always count on my Friday mornings to start with a thread from Jen asking how everyone did that week and continue to motivate and encourage the rest of us who struggled. Good for you! I am proud of you!!!

My last check in goes as follows:

IN the bitter cold and snow, I ran three times this week. It was difficult but liberating at the same time. I also weight trained twice this week from home and today went to Sets and Reps at the Y. It was a KILLER class and reminded me ONCE AGAIN how out of shape I am!!!! Just when I thought I was back on track too!!!!

Thanks Christy- such sweet people in this forum to make my ego swell- just teasing !

Good for you for running out in the cold! I was thinking about you the other day- I went to take the dog for a "walk". As a very cold gust of wind hit me- I thought somewhere miles away Christy is out there running in temps close to this- also probably contending with some leftover ice- then I realized- Darn- I told Christy I was going to do a 5k (or was it 3K?) this late spring early summer. Then reality hit me- I am going to have to start training in this weather- dear Lord what did I do to myself !

I feel happy with what I have done too. Even if the weight was just 10lbs. I am looking at the moms group I organize and have brought in a on going post to talk about Diet and Excersise. I did the work out buddies thing for a while in 07 until I found something better a actual work out buddy who lives near me and we do the WW meeting together. I am excited about not sustaining too much damage durring the holiday's. I am gung ho for 2008 and getting a system in place an expanding my group modivated mommies.

Jen and Christy,

You guys are truly motivating. I didn't post much but I did pretty well this year until November. I've not only fallen off the wagon, I've jumped off into a vat of chocolate and fast food! But I've decided that 2008 is the year that I lose the rest of this fat! I'm starting tomorrow with food logging and getting back into the swing at Jazzercise.

Thank you for keeping the motivation levels high!

Sharon
