Okay, I am finally going to do it! I need to lose weight and I plan to stick to it this time. I have gained 50lbs in my ten years of marriage. But, I want to lose a total of 30lbs. I set smaller goals that seem more reachable. I want to lose 10lbs by Valentine's Day, six weeks away. Another 10lbs by Easter, another six weeks. Then the final 10lbs by summer time. Sound reasonable?

I have cut out all soda. (Day three and really want a pepsi!) Smaller meals. And less sweets. Pretty much I will eat when I am hungry, just smaller amounts. Like if I want a cookie, I'll have one not four. If I bake brownies, no licking the batter and a smaller size brownie to eat. So, I cut the sweets way down. I have also done smaller meal portions. I plan to start my pilates again. I do that when I get up in the morning before the kids are up. I lost 15lbs doing that before, of course I gained it back plus some. But I am sticking to it this time! I will start that on Monday, unless I can get motavated to do it tomorrow morning.

Does my plan sound reasonable? Too much? Not enough? My hubby wants me to be happy so he is supportive. And my mom is supportive. But I have never stuck to it before and need help!

I think your plan sounds awesome! Your post led me to toss the remaining peanut mms I was munching on just to "get rid" of them. Setting smaller goals with goal dates is a great idea and your dates are perfectly spaced out. Doesn't it make it seem like it's NOT so overwhelming? It really sounds so doable. Hope you don't care, but I think I'll copy you. I'll change my diet...the mms are not my usual thing...sweets I can pass on, but bread, butter, pasta...hmmm. I just got new running shoes, so I'll start walking (not running at first, I want to survive the first six weeks) everyday. I've been thinking about exactly how and when to start...you've inspired me! I'll start right now with you. Thanks LJGZsmom!! and Good Luck...We can do it !!

Way to go girls!!! I am joining you both. I actually started yesterday. I have always watched what I ate and exercised, but know I am REALLY watching what goes into my mouth and what time of day it goes in.

I think your goal is definitely doable!! Good Luck!!!

Me too! I have got to lose some weight. I am miserable and embarrassed at the weight I am now. I kinda started yesterday. No all day munching, smaller portions. I am going to start to watch how many calories I eat. Plus I will be getting some books on the South Beach diet too. I am also saving up money for a membership to my local rec. center. Plus I have like Tivo, so I will be finding and recording workout shows to get me started on. I too have gained roughly 50 lbs in 10 years. LJGZsmom, I am going to also copy you as far as my goal to lose weight within the same time frame.

Thanks girls! I started doing this January 1st. I am so exited that I really think I will stick to it this time. I want a pepsi so bad, but keep trying to push the thought aside. I have drank so much water the last three days I am about to float away! Let's do it girls!
