My Father died in October after a long illness. Because I watched him suffer, I think I did some greiving while he was still alive. I can rememebr coming home from my parents house months before he died and having to pull the car over becuase I was crying so hard about how he was declining and how he was so ready to get to Heaven. When he actually died and the days of the viewing, I was sad but not crying my eyes out. Now the days and months after are hard. Some days are good and other days I;m reminided of something he said or see someone that looks like him and I just fall apart. I have lots of support and my siblings and I rely on each other alot. My Mom and I spend alot of time together and truthfully, I feel better around her because she is an extension of him and she is greiving too. He was a fairly spiritual person (I used to call him the busboy at the Last Supper) and was always saying his Rosary. Since he died, I've learned to say the Rosary and it makes me feel better and somewhat closer to him. Everyone has their own way of greiving and it all doesn't take place in a year. I think that if one doesn't deal with it sooner it will come to get you later.
