I am 32 and my husband loves food, so I cook a lot. I don’t know how, but he doesn’t gain weight. Since I got married, it seems that I’ve started to eat more. My friends say it may be an eating disorder. What should I do to get thin again?

You need to calculate how many calories you should eat to reach your target weight – I assume you set a target weight, or if not you should. The goal is to eat less calories than your body burns until you reach your target weight. I use the calorie calculator at Calorie counter, BMI calculator and diet planner. Losing weight can be fun!. It’s free, and has a bunch of features, including a menu planner. You can cook something for your husband and something else for you, or make sure that whatever you cook doesn’t have more calories per serving than you should eat.

Go to the gym, jog, walk, take the stairs instead of the elevator.

The first step is making your health a priority and cleary you are doing that.

The second step is staying committed to it. It's hard work. It's discipline...and if you aren't fully committed ot the process and to the blood, sweat and tears, than you may find it more of a struggle than a benefit!

The best thing to do is make it a priority. Tell yourself: If I work out today, I can do "this" later. If you can manage to dedicate thirty minutes of cardio three days a week, you are on the right track. Once you get into the habit of taking the time out of your day to do that, then you can add strength training to your regmine

This is totally doable...you just need to make it a priority...and we're here to support you through the ups and the downs!

My husband is the same way, he can eat whatever he wants. However, he has high blood pressure and cholesterol. I don't bring things into the house that we shouldn't be eating.

I also need to lose a few pounds so I don't have any ultimate wisdom. However, maybe just try to eat a smaller portion of whatever you are making for him.

I would say portion control is key. My husband loves to eat and I love to cook for him. So I portion out our meals. He gets larger portions (but still healthy for him) and I get smaller portions. We also have increased our activity, even if it is just walking our dogs at night. Good luck and I'm sure you will do great!
