I just started a diet. I have needed to for quite a while. I know what to do and how to get it off it is just motivating myself to do it. You need to have the right mind frame. And know that it will take some time to take the weight off. If you don't start today then you will be the same weight or more 6 months from now. But if you do start taking control of your lifestyle you will be healthier and lighter in 6 months. I figure anything I can do is better than nothing.

I am trying to eat more fruits and veggies. It's hard. Also I am making more from scratch meals.

on the old board we had a very loose group of ladies we called Life change buddies. I posted in dec 05 that I was on a lifestyle change. cj'smom was also on board. not sure that anyone is anymore. I am still pluging away. it's one day at a time.
Here's what I have done so far...

started walking and swimming.
counting carbs
if I have pop I can only have one, no refills
water, but I always drink alot of water
no french fries

we posted are ups and downs. I never really posted weight loss b/c that was just the added bonus, even though I need alot of added bonus!!!!!

For starters, keep a food diary. Start writing down everything you eat each day. At the end of a week, review what you have written. This will help you to see areas that need to be improved.

Limit the amount of processed foods you eat. Try to use natural foods instead. Reduce or eliminate sodas and juices from your diet.

If you aren't already doin it, add excercise, even just walking is beneficial if done on a regular basis.
