Well, to make this as short as possible...

I teach a ladies class at church, and I resigned from doing so, by talking to the pastor. When we discussed this, he asked if I would annnounce it to the ladies at the next meeting. I said yes, I would take on that responsibility.

Well, I get to church today, and a lady comes up to me and says "I hear you are quitting the ladies fellowship", I asked her who she heard it from and she said that it was going around amonst the ladies. I was not happy...

So I took the pastors wife aside and she said that the pastor HAD to ask someone to take it over, and that person he asked to do it probably told everyone and I should take it up with him....

I was upset because this is how gossip starts and rumors and all that, and it was agreed that I would tell them, not him. I know that he needed to find a replacement, but he has a sub for me when I cannot do it, and a month between meetings to find someone.

He basically lied to me. It was agreed and he did not honor his agreement....

Hmmm...I could see his need to find someone else, thus needing to discuss it. But he should have asked her to keep it quiet until you announced it and "handed over the baton" to her. BUT, he should also have discussed that with you. HOWEVER, I'm sorry, but men just don't think that way. That's why we women are so often left to cleaning up the details.

And if his own wife said you should probably take it up with him, it's probably because she knows he wouldn't have or didn't listen to her.

That's a bummer. I'm sure it was embarrassing for you.
