The last three nights I have eaten so much that my stomach hurt because it was stretched to it's max. Today I ate so much bratwurst that I feel like I am going to throw up. I eat every meal like it could be my last. I eat all day long, a slice of cheese here, a sandwich later, leftovers from supper when everyone else is in bed. My fat clothes are getting tighter. My weight is getting higher. It's as high as it was when I was midway through my pregnancies. I haven't worked out in months. I look like I'm pregnant in some clothes. In others, I just look too fat for my clothes. Today we were at my mother-in-law's looking at pictures and I saw myself at a thinner time...I felt so fat today.

I know what I need to do to fix the problem. I just thought if I said it out loud (or posted it for the world to see) I would be forced to do something about it.

I know what you mean.... and you know what, for me, the more I stay at home... the more i tend to eat. I remember when i was working full time (i only work 21 hrs/wk now) I used to weight much less and be more active. Now that i stay home more, i tend to snack more often, and they aren't the healthiest snacks.

I have this problem to. I think food can be an addiction just like cigaretts or alcohol. I am currently a stay at home mother and the food is constanly around me. Do you eat when you are upset or nervous about something? I know some people do whats called emotional over eating. I myself do this at times. I wish I knew how to lose weight.

You have to find something else to fill your time. Maybe reorganize, clean, etc., pop in an exercise video. Those skinny chicks will either make you want to eat or starve!
Drink a glass of water, brush your teeth.

I have hungry days when I think to myself, I can't possibly be this hungry. I have to find something more engaging to do.

Try making up a food plan the night before. Write down everything you are going to eat the next day. Often, just having a plan will help take your mind off food.

The first step to gaining back control is to recognize your habits. Firstly, eating at night is the WORST time to eat. The food you eat, especially after 7pm, mainly sits in your stomach and does not digest the way it should...top that with the fact you are going to bed shortly thereafter and you've just eaten what most people consider their biggest meal: dinner. All that food is now stationary because you are stationary. Keep that in the back of your mind. Notice most people don't feel this way during the day. They are up and moving around more times than not.

It's always a good rule of thumb to eat more smaller meals throughout the day so that you don't overindulge. You will always feel content if you stomach is always digesting something and it's not just sitting there.

Exercise is also a great tool to help get your system back on track. If your problem is fullness, exercise will help keep things moving. It makes you regular and speeds up your metabolism! (which is a good thing).

This is also a great idea. It keeps your mind busy and keeps you on track.

Thanks you guys...I've heard all those things before and I do consider myself well educated in diet and fitness...my problem is actually doing what I need to do.

blessedwith3boys--I used to consider myself an emotional eater, but now I'm just a bored eater...hehe.

I try to stay active and busy when I'm at home during the day so I don't think about eating lots of foods. This way I only eat during meal times. But I always have a small afternoon snack so that I don't get a craving and indulge. It really helps me! I have tried cutting out snacks and that didn't work so if I just have a tiny bit I'm satisfied.

The more active that I am the less that I eat. Isn't that odd? You would think it would be the other way around. I guess, when I'm working out (because it is off and on for me) I'm just more aware of my body and what I am consuming.

But I do love food!
