A while back I got an email saying to rub Vicks vapo rub on your feet if your congested and or coughing (I don't remember which). My question is has anybody tried this or heard of this? I think it said you have to wear socks with it? I'm thinking of trying this so my d.h. and I can actually sleep without being so stuffy but how much do we use and will it burn?

This was brought up about a month ago, so I tried it and it did nothing for me.

Yes, I rub it everywhere when I'm sick, though. I think it helps. It won't cure me but it does help.

My mom does every night! Plus it moisturizes her feet. She highly recommends it. I don't do it because I can't stand to wear socks when I sleep and I don't want my sheets greasy.

Sorry, my edit button isn't working. Just put enough on the feet to coat them on the bottoms, then put your socks on. It shouldn't burn unless you have cuts all over your feet. Don't forget to put on the chest, also. HTH

I told my sister about it and she and her Dh tried it...did nothing for them either. Just depends on the person I guess. Also I think the 'placebo' affect may be going on for some folks. The fact that you THINK something, is doing something, can be pretty powerful for some people.

Didn't do anything for us either....
