That is the great thing about this country!!! We can all practice OUR OWN religion (or non-religion) as we see fit!!! I am a God fearing and loving Christian who would go to the ends of the world to defend someones right not to be one!

Gimme a break...your statement made not sense at all. you contradicted yourself....re-read it...i'm sure you'll figure out the contradictory part. Since you are a "god-fearing,loving" christian then your spiritual eyes will lead you right to the part you need to see. For real though...YOU were not even the one (or ones) I was referring to!! LOL...you took personal offense to it...sorry hun but it really was not even directed towards you. In this sad world there will always be "those" that want to stand up for everything BUT God.

Well, I am one who attends church every week, my ds attends Catholic school. BUt I could care less if they take the under God out of the pledge. The little act of removing the words from the pledge doesn't erase all the teaching we do to our children raising them in our beliefs that we are all under God.
If others who do not believe in God, and have other belief, and saying this pledge makes them uncomfortable than it shouldn't be forced. We have free will.
It's a pledge and I think more time should be devoted to teaching them what the pledge they are saying actually means. I bet the kids who are saying it don't even know what they are saying.

I said nothing contradictory at all in my statement and I did not think that you were referring specifically to me, but it still offended me that others not be allowed to express their views. I think it is sad that people can be so unaccepting of any views other than their own.

I don't think anyone should be "forced" to say "under God" if they don't want to, but I also don't want someone to take it out just b/c they are offended by something that was not meant to be offensive in any way.
I love it when others say exactly what i'm thinking.

I personally find it difficult to understand how a Christian can see nothing wrong with taking the words Under God out of the pledge. However that is my opinion and everyone else is of course welcome to theirs.

I am totally against removing God from the pledge. I think it should remain the way it is.

I knew I would get differing opinions on this thread. I do like to hear all sides. I think it's interesting to see what people think. However, I would prefer if we kept the content of our responses strictly to opinions on the subject matter and not point fingers or make accusatory comments. I would hate to see a nice healthy debate go awry!

Thank you!
