To see quicker results, be sure to measure your inches.....measuring INCHES LOST is definitely a sure way to see results!!!! Pounds will go up as you gain muscle mass (which is a good thing) but some people feel discouraged when they see the scale go up...so take measurements EACH and EVERY month!!!!
You are right. I meant to write the whole post in past tense. It started that way. I meant to say I got tired of feeling like a failure. I don't anymore. I feel great these days but it took hitting rock bottom for me to get here. I am a strong woman with an ever decreasing muffin top.

I think you said it right there with how I am feeling. I feel like I have hit rock bottom. I am the biggest I have ever been even while 9 months pregnant!

BUT Drumroll please...............

Last night I put a piece of paper over my computer that said Do not touch until you do 30 minutes on the treadmill! Guess what? I may not have made it the whole 30 minutes but I did 16 at between 1.5-2.8. I LOVE that I did that to myself. I am going to try and do another 15 before I make dinner later.

I think my biggest downfall is the computer. I can sit on here for hours. And the treadmill is staring at me from the corner of my eye while I am on it!

I think the good thing about the placement of the treadmill is that it is in the corner of the basement facing the girls play area. So I can see what they are doing while I am on it. Of course I may have to watch Little Einsteins or Handy Manny while doing it but oh well. I do plan on putting my MP3 player to better use eventually and downloading some songs so that I can listen to that.

I think if I can teach myself this way eventually I will not have to write myself a note. It will come naturally.

My goal is to also cut out the soda and sweet habit. I know baby steps.

Thanks for all of the great advice and support!!!

They need to come out with treadmills with built in laptop computers!!! With really large viewing screens and rubberized keyboard pads so when you sweat you don't make too many typos!! I could walk for hours then!

You're definitely not the only one, i too have an Eliptical machine collecting dust here in the office, it's my downfall too that it's in the same room as my computer. I can't move it anywhere else, DH doesn't like it in the living room and the office is the only place i have room for it.

This is so true! I am one of those ladies that will be the same pant size as the lady next to me, but I will weigh 20 pounds more. I have a lot of muscle (even right now when I'm out of shape, I have a lot of muscle, it's that swedish dairy farmer blood ) and muscle weighs more then fat and I distribute my weight evenly. If I went by the scale, I would be upset even when I am at my most healthy and strong, I was a size 8 at 150-160 pounds (oh, those were the days!). I learned to look at the scale in a completely new way once I figured that out about my body.

Me, too!! I love the swedish dairy farmer comment

My girls are the same. My oldest will be 5 next month, she weighs 50lbs, 44in tall and wears a size 6. She is as solid as a rock.
